EDG Expands Services, New Perth Appointment to Drive Growth

Global engineering consulting firm EDG has appointed David Hazle to the newly created role of Business Leader of Project Development and Advisory (Perth), following the expansion of the company’s services.

EDG is expanding its services in Front End Engineering Design (FEED), Concept Selection and Definition, Early Phase Screening and Technical Advisory Services across its energy, industrial, and natural resources end markets.

The Business Leader of Project Development and Advisory role will be responsible for enhancing EDG’s reputation for project development solutions, growing its portfolio in this market segment, as well as creating strategic partnerships that add value to its customers.

Previously holding senior positions within Shell’s joint-venture Arrow Energy, Mr. Hazle will apply his extensive technical and leadership experience to the newly created role and will be based in Perth, Western Australia.

“Front end project development is a key area of growth for EDG.  We have appointed David to help drive our growth and explore the opportunities in front end project development and project advisory services globally,” said EDG Australia General Manager, Alan Fotheringham.  “David is a proven leader with experience in identifying new markets, building high performance teams, and for technical innovation.  With David’s industry and academic connections, EDG aims to become the preferred consultant for its clients and partners alike in front end design.”

David holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Cambridge, and is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia.  He is also a Fellow of Engineers Australia and is a chartered electrical and petroleum engineer.  Mr. Hazle joins EDG from a global E&C firm, where he was the director for consulting in the APAC region after completing six years running the engineering function in Shell’s joint-venture Arrow Energy.  He was also technical lead on Shell’s Deepwater Australian project.
