More Work in the Pipeline for EDG as Chevron Extends Contract

Perth-based engineering consultants, EDG, have locked down work with Chevron’s businesses at Gorgon, Wheatstone, and Barrow Island following the industry giant’s decision to extend its contract.

Chevron initially awarded the contract to the firm in 2013 to conduct brownfield engineering services during the operational phase at Chevron’s Western Australian assets.  That contract has now been extended by a further two years, to June 2022.  EDG supported the commissioning and start-up of Chevron’s LNG facilities and through this contract extension will provide asset lifecycle solutions including project development, project delivery, asset performance, and digital asset information management.

Alan Fotheringham EDG AustraliaEDG Executive General Manager (Australia), Alan Fotheringham, said the decision by Chevron to extend the services contract was based on EDG’s expertise, service delivery and scale.  “Our business has grown considerably since 2013 and now provides a range of technical services across the asset lifecycle,” he said.  “Our commitment to exceptional customer service means that more often than not, we work in partnership to solve complex challenges and co-create solutions.  This has certainly been the case in Australia where EDG makes a key contribution to Chevron’s operations.”

Chevron has operated in Australia since 1952 when it entered Western Australia through the purchase of Caltex.

“EDG has a strong track record when it comes to assisting the industry to create additional value in their projects and we’re excited to continue our journey with Chevron,” said Mr. Fotheringham.

“We’re looking forward to continuing to support Chevron’s Western Australian assets, as well as other customers and projects that need our expertise.”
