HUB Floating Production Unit
Greenfield Development in the Gulf of America
HUB is a greenfield Floating Production Unit (FPU) designed for oil and gas processing and export in the offshore U.S. Gulf of America. Utilizing a proven hull concept, HUB is a standardized, fast-execution semisubmersible platform with a nameplate capacity of 80,000 BOPD, 160 MMSCFD, and 60,000 BWPD with capabilities to debottleneck to 100,000 BOPD and 10,000 BLPD. It includes future capacity for 50,000 BWPD water injection at 8,500 psig, with SURF systems rated to API 15k.
Flexible, Scalable, and Rapid Execution Design
HUB is engineered for a wide range of reservoir compositions and production profiles, enabling operational flexibility and scalability. The standardized design supports dual-looped subsea architecture, dead oil circulation, and round-trip pigging, with a target of sanction to first oil in under 5 years.
EDG’s Engineering Excellence
EDG has completed Pre-FEED and early FEED phases, delivering:
- Full process system engineering
- Over 100 process P&IDs
- 3D modeling of all equipment and piping 10” and above
- All completed on budget in 7 months
Innovative Collaboration with Hull Designer/Provider
EDG worked closely with an established Hull design provider for improved constructability, operability, and rapid fabrication. The design includes modular topsides (~17,000 MT) and a flare boom, ready for detailed engineering upon discovery.
Future-Proofed for Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR)
The platform includes reserves of 500 MT for future expansion and 500 MT as management reserve, supporting future gas lift or subsea pumping. All systems are preconfigured for seamless integration of future modules.
Compliance and Standards
Designed to meet or exceed ABS, USCG, API, and NFPA standards, HUB is built for long-term reliability with a 30-year topsides life and 20-year subsea life.
