Barge Loading System Capacity Increase

Increase annual volume of the barge loading system through the existing River Silos in order to accommodate a plant production capacity increase. The cement transfer design rate from the Truck Silos to the River Silos was increased from 160 STPH to 300 STPH.

A new telescoping barge loading spout system was required to supplement the two existing loading systems, to be used for standard grain type river barges.

The scope of work included preliminary through final engineering design involving civil, structural, mechanical and electrical disciplines, Development of Project Specifications, Permitting Assistance, Development of Equipment Bid Packages & Bid Evaluation Services, Major Engineering Deliverables.

A significant part of the project was to modify the existing Truck Silo Air Gravity Conveyor reclaim system, and add a new pneumatic transfer system with compressors in order to accommodate the increased rate. This new system also provided greater silo reclaim flexibility by strategically integrating higher capacity Air Gravity Conveyors to feed the new transfer system to the River Silos.
