EDG held its inaugural golf tournament Friday, September 21, 2007, at Squirrel Run Golf Club in New Iberia, Louisiana. The event was held to raise funds for Camp Bon Coeur, which means "good heart" in French, to provide sponsorships for children and their families to attend Family Camp in January and Summer Camp 2008. The camp helps families of children with heart defects learn how to care for their children and cope with their illness.

More than 100 golfers from across the state teed off at 8 a.m., enjoying a beautiful day on the greens, followed by hearty servings of jambalaya, pork steaks and refreshments. Members of the 20 participating teams all received customized golf accessories, and a variety of door prizes were also awarded.

Ace sponsors for the tournament included Wadleigh Energy Group, Frank’s Casing Crew, Grand Isle Shipyard and Cortec. Also sponsoring the event were Tetra Technology, Dynamic Industries and Teche Café, among others. Fifteen EDG employees volunteered to work the tournament and three EDG teams, consisting of employees and clients, participated. Enough funds were raised to fully support the attendance of three children at Summer Camp and four families at Family Camp.
