The Utilities Services Group provides engineering services, project & construction management, project controls & scheduling services, and administrative support to Utility companies.  EDG, Inc. offers experienced staff that becomes an extension of the client’s own staff just as if they were actual employees of the company.


Our professionals have many years of experience working with Utility Companies, thus allowing us to understand your processes and to provide extensive operations support.  Many of our Project Managers are certified as PMPs by The Project Management Institute.  As additional staff become part of the team, it is our goal that all Project Managers grow in their knowledge and experience allowing them the opportunity to achieve certification as PMPs.  EDG’s in-house PMP preparation program is very deliberate in growing top-notch certified professionals.  Our goal is to become so proficient in delivering service that we gain your trust and truly become an extension of your staff.  Allow our experienced team of professionals to become a seamless strategic partnership with your organization. EDG, Inc. project managers are proficient in overseeing client-employee resources as well as third-party subcontractors. 


UTILITY SERVICES PROJECT EXAMPLES

  • Customer-funded project to install an additional transformer to an existing 230 kV substation

  • Project to establish revenue metering at transmission and distribution lines crossing a jurisdictional boundary

  • Build a new control house and move the relaying and controls in order to demolish the older existing structure

  • Build new substation to accommodate future load growth in developing area.  Extensive earth work and clearing, as well as a new transmission line tie-in, were key components in this project

  • Replace twelve (12) 500kV freestanding CT columns used for protective relaying on 500kV breaker terminals due to excessive Sf6 gas leaks

  • Install one (1) 230kV IPO (Independent Pole Operated) circuit breaker, disconnect switches, line relay panels, breaker control panel, and perform required relay settings on the line node looking toward a generation plant

  • Raise and relocate eight (8) integral high voltage transmission lines to 118 feet above existing highway grade, at center sag, plus electrical clearances: 69kV, 138kV, and 230kV.  Project consisted of 195-foot tall single pole, single circuit structures with base plated vibratory caisson foundations

  • In response to NERC, CIP identified deficiencies in the United States bulk electric system, we are providing Project Management of projects that will ensure compliance with critical infrastructure protection plan requirements. These projects vary in scope, but are designed to secure the assets required for operating North America's bulk electric system
