Frequently Asked Questions

Thank you for your interest in EDG. We want your job search experience to be a smooth process so we have compiled the following list of Frequently Asked Questions to help in your navigation of our Talent Website. We wish you every success with your job search.

What do I do if I forgot my Password?
Select Candidate Log In and once there select “Forgot your Password”. Your username will always be your email address. A temporary password will be emailed to you.

How do I log in if my resume was submitted by someone other than myself?
Follow the same procedure as if you have forgotten your Password.

How do I submit my resume?
Select the “Submit Resume” tab on the Careers page and then complete all of the information in RED*. You can also upload your resume by selecting “browse” and selecting the resume from your personal computer drive. Your information will be parsed in but anything in RED* that is not captured will need to be filled in. Once completed you may apply to the position of your choice.

Can I submit my resume without applying to a position?
Yes, Select “Submit Resume” as described above just skip the ‘apply to’ portion and our database will keep your resume for future use.

When should I expect to receive feedback on my application?
We try to reply to all applicants as quickly as possible. However, due to time constraints and changing project demands our hiring managers may not be able to review resumes immediately. Please be patient as all resumes will be reviewed and those candidates chosen for further consideration will be contacted. In the event that your application is not chosen for further consideration you will at a minimum receive an email making you aware of the fact.

Why can’t the Hiring Manager see my resume as an Applicant to his open position?
There is a chance that you did not click “SUBMIT” when you applied to the requisition. Simply sign back in and ensure this step was completed. You may need to apply to the requisition again.

Do I stand a better chance of getting hired if I drop a copy of my resume off at your office?
All applications must be made via our Online Applicant system. So dropping your resume off will not be of any value.

How do I pursue a position with EDG outside the US?
We periodically have Ex-Patriot opportunities and they will be indicated as such in the Requisition. If the Requisition is not designated as such we are only considering applicants that have legal documentation of eligibility to work for any employer in the country the position is located in.

How do I update my information in your system?
Simply log in using the credentials you established when you set up your profile. Once in your profile you can simply edit your profile line by line or you can upload a new resume to replace the one that already exists in the system.

What does the error “That email already exists in the system” mean?
Your email already exists in our database. Simply follow the “Forgot my Password” instructions.

What does the error “Invalid File Type” mean?
Some forms of your resume such as a scanned copy may not be recognized by the system. MS Word, Rich Text or PDF files are the best format to submit your resume in.

Help Prevent Worker Injuries Due to Electrical Equipment Failure | Become Arc-Flash Compliant

What is an arc flash, and why does EDG’s electrical division excel against the competition in providing arc-flash services?

An arc flash is a massive release of energy due to electrical current traveling through the air between electrical components at different potentials. If you are exposed to an arc flash, you may be exposed to temperatures up to 35,000 degrees Fahrenheit and explosive energy comparable to a blast of dynamite. Each day, 5-10 arc flash incidents occur in the United States and 2,000 workers annually are admitted to burn centers with severe arc-flash burns. Understanding the dangers, increasing worker awareness and reducing existing hazard levels are essential to the safety of those who work around electrical equipment.

EDG has the team of experts with experience in many industries and types of facilities and the knowledge to help you become Arc-Flash Compliant. We will work with you to tailor a program to meet the needs of your company or organization and comply with relevant safety standards, avoid citations and fines, and minimize the impact on your staff and operations.
