Give the Edge to EDG

Tchatamba South "B" Azile Development

Client:
Marathon Petroleum Gabon LDC

Location:
Gabon, West Africa

Project description:
EDG provided project management, preliminary and detailed engineering, design basis, and all relevant analysis, design, and drawings to add a 18' x 140' x 38' high, 400-ton, three-level production module to Tchatamba South Platform "B" to process the sour pro-duction of 10,000 BOPD (1.5% H 2 S and 1.0% CO 2 ) from the Azile reservoir. The addition will allow processed sour production to commingle with existing sweet pro-duction that is routed to the Tchatamba Marin Platform " A" for final processing and sales. The "sweetening" of the Azile production is based on using three levels of flashing and using excess sweet gas to strip the H 2 S from the oil and water phases using separate strippers.

All sour gas and excess sweet gas is flared using a 140 ft. flare tower with an air-assisted flare tip. Final H 2 S removal from recombined sweetened oil and water utilizes H 2 S scavenger chemicals injected into the existing 10 mile departing pipeline to ensure that the recombined fluids will not have more than 20 ppm in any part of the downstream sweet facilities. Other services provided include procurement, construction and offshore installation support and plans.
