Greater Takula Area Infrastructure

Client:
Cabinda Gulf Oil Company, LTD.

Location:
Cabinda, Angola, West Africa

Project description:
The GTAI Project was chartered in order to take a system-wide approach to the continuing development and reservoir management of the Greater Takula Area. Engineering studies were conducted to optimize operating and economic performance of the GTA asset. Studies reviewed all process streams including oil, water, and gas while considering the impacts of new field development opportunities, a proposed well workover program, and the increasing water cuts from the maturing waterflood. The studies concluded that each of the four existing Gathering Stations including GS-Lima/Lima Aux, GS-Mike, GS-November, and GS-Papa required upgrading in order to handle forecasted production volumes. As a result, the work plan included process debottlenecking of separation equipment, heaters, oil treating equipment, pumps, and piping; power generation upgrades; produced water treating equipment upgrades; produced sand handling and treating upgrades; flare system modifications; and drain system modifications. In addition, the Takula Onshore Treating Plant included debottlenecking to handle projected fluid volumes from the offshore stations and upgrades to handle a wider range of influent BS&W and salinities.
