"Alex Project"– Offshore Production Facilities for HP Gas and Condensate

Shell converted a drilling module to a production module for BA A19 "C" to process 100 MMSCFD (20 ppm H 2 S and 6% CO 2 ), 500 BCPD and 200 BWPD from A19 " JC", the first satellite well for the "Alex" discovery. The " C" production module was designed to facilitate the installation of a future 200 MMSCFD amine system to process the future total of 200 MMSCFD, 3,800 BCPD and 10,000 BWPD. Two (2) existing platforms, A19 "B" and "D", were bridge connected to A19 "C". A four-throw single stage gas compressor was added to A19 " D" for existing production which was then routed to the new A19 "C" facility. EDG provided preliminary and detail design and all relevant analysis, diagrams, and drawings including process designs that combined gas blending and H2S scavenging to overcome sour gas issues. Using both new and used equipment, the project was completed on schedule and within budget.
